Genitive case Nominative case in German language is the subject of the sentence Accusative case in German language is the direct object of the sentence Dative case in German language is the indirect object of the sentence Genitive case in German language shows the possession of something or someone in the sentence Depending on the nature of the sentence, one sentence in German language may have only nominative case or nominative case and accusative case, or nominative case, accusative and dative case or nominative, accusative, dative and genitive cases. Therefore a case in German language is a part of sentence.
