Nikad nije kasno! | Marianne van Twillert-Wennekes | TEDxPodgorica
As a foreigner in Montenegro, she was faced with many challenges and had beautiful and difficult moments, but only after the sixtieth year she was able to realize everything she ever wanted. She traveled around the world and her view of the world is thus completely changed. She has climbed in Bolivia, mountain biked in Albania, rode horses through the tobacco plantations in Cuba. In this speech, she described how she went back to some basic values of life that are most important for her; she returned to nature. Mrs. Marianne van Twillert-Wennekes was born in the Netherlands. After having completed her tourism study in Brussels, she got a job in Budva and moved to Tito’s Yugoslavia. She has been living in Montenegro for the last 45 years, most of the time in Podgorica, where she has worked as translator/interpreter of German, English and Dutch for many national and international organizations. Marianne participated in the ecological project “Let’s connect the threads” with an exhibition of eco-photography in Cetinje, in September 2012. She was also in charge of the photography for the first Dutch travel guides to Montenegro, Albania and Ohrid/Macedonia, written by her husband Paul Wennekes. Together with Paul, she travels around the Balkans and many other countries by camper, making photos and writing blogs. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
