Deep within the Watchung Reserve lies a forest with narrow, winding roads that lead us to a cluster of houses from the mid-18th and 19th centuries, which have lain abandoned for decades. This place is known as the Deserted Village, where stories of promises, failures, witchcraft, and even hauntings abound. Join us to see what remains of this village shrouded in mystery. The village was founded in 1736 by Peter Willcocks, but as the years passed, he eventually passed away. IN 1844, DAVID FELT BOUGHT LAND FROM PETER'S DESCENDANTS AND BUILT A SMALL VILLAGE FOR WORKERS TO LIVE. This village was nicknamed FELTVILLE. The village was so quiet that it became known as DESERT VILLAGE.
