According to initial findings, the fire broke out in the attic apartment. Fire departments had to rescue a deceased person from this apartment. The person's identity has not yet been determined. The remaining residents were able to leave the building unharmed. The building is temporarily uninhabitable. Five people were accommodated by the city administration, while the others found private accommodation. One first responder sustained minor injuries in the fire and was treated as an outpatient at the hospital. Furthermore, a cat was taken to a veterinarian for examination as a precautionary measure. The fire departments from Bad Herrenalb and Calw, as well as the emergency services, were on scene with large numbers of personnel. The mayor and the district fire chief were also at the scene. The fire was extinguished around 1:15 p.m. According to initial estimates, the property damage amounts to approximately €300,000. The cause of the fire is not yet known and is the subject of ongoing investigations.
