I was also Involved with the Honda S800 club at the time to the extent that they ended up having to amalgamate the N&Z 600’s into the club too! The Z became quite well known because I was pretty keen on the track (autotest and sprint activity) at the yearly AGM’s. Suffice to say when I relocated to Stoke in 1998 I brought both the Z and the N600Auto that I have up here, and although I used the N600A for the first few years both cars inevitably got laid up, albeit in reasonably good workshop conditions. See attach images below that I’ve been able to find on my phone, but there’s are many more pictures around detailing the various mods and body repairs that went on in the early 90’s. The engine is quite special, I won’t bore you to death, but obviously the cam chest with the DCOE adapter is custom (so it could go on a rolling road) the crank in it was an NOS (it’s all roller bearings) one fitted in 1995, along with a one off Phil Joy camshaft - the car made just over 60bhp on the rollers, at the wheels, probably near to 70 at the crank? Also has top adjustable front strut inserts custom made for me by Koni’s competition dept in Camberley, and adjustable rear telescopic to match. It’s a thoroughly engineered little car, and was a great drive. Worth googling. There are a lot of spares to go with it, including an NOS genuine Honda bonnet!
