La Proclama – Capítulo 22 | Colecciones históricas, antropología visual y patrimonio vivo
Welcome to the twenty-second episode of La Proclama, the radio program of the National Library of Chile, a space dedicated to exploring memory, creation, and cultural heritage in all its forms. In this episode, we go back to the origins of the National Library through the General Collection, one of its oldest and most important collections. We speak with Maricel Aguilera, head of this section, who invites us to discover the richness and diversity of its materials, originating from prominent private libraries and key historical processes, as well as to reflect on the challenges of preserving and providing access to this heritage in the 21st century. The episode includes a recording from the Sound Archive featuring a choral performance of “Dulzura,” a poem by Gabriela Mistral set to music and presented by the octet of soloists from the Chamber Choir of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, in a moving connection between poetry and music. Furthermore, we invite you to explore the cultural offerings of the National Library, highlighting the presentation of a new edition of "Alsino" by Pedro Prado, a fundamental classic of Chilean literature, at an event that brings together prominent figures from the literary and academic fields. In the second part of the program, we speak with Gastón Carreño, a researcher at the Diego Barros Arana Research Center, about visual anthropology, a discipline that explores how images contribute to understanding cultures and societies, opening new perspectives on heritage and its study. The episode concludes with a recording from the Archive of the Spoken Word, featuring Agata Gligo, a renowned writer and literary critic, who reflects on her work and its connection to the land, offering a profound perspective on literary creation in Chile. 📚 La Proclama is an invitation to discover how historical collections, new forms of research, and cultural expressions interact to keep memory alive and project it into the future. ________________________________________ Hosted by: María José Cuello and Juan Pablo Rojas Guests: Maricel Aguilera and Gastón Carreño Production: National Library of Chile + Radio UNIACC 🔔 Subscribe to continue exploring Chile's cultural heritage 📖 More information at: National Library of Chile
