Picking and canning green beans

There's nothing like a garden with fresh string beans ready for the picking — and even less that beats the sound of jars sealing on the counter a few hours later. In this video I'll walk you through picking beans at the right stage, snapping and prepping them, and canning them up the old-fashioned way so you've got a taste of summer sitting on your pantry shelf come January. This is one of those skills that used to just get passed down — nobody wrote it in a book, you just stood next to your Mama or your Mamaw at the stove and learned. So that's what we're doing here today.
