Episode 8 | L'AIDE MÉDICALE À MOURIR - Mongrain en balado

In episode 8 of the Mongrain podcast, we tackle a still-sensitive subject: medical assistance in dying (MAID), with Dr. Naud and Nancie Ferron. Dr. Naud is a family physician in Quebec City and an unwitting advocate for MAID. Nancie Ferron is the co-founder of Maison Lavande, a former journalist at TVA, and Dr. Ferron's daughter. Since the Quebec law concerning end-of-life care came into effect in December 2015, Dr. Naud has treated over one hundred MAID cases. He guides us through each step of the process, from the official request made by the recipients to their final moments. He speaks to us about the serenity of the people he cares for, the resilience of the families, and the ritual surrounding death. Dr. Naud is then joined by Nancie Ferron, who explains how the MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying) process went for her father, Dr. Ferron, in 2020.
