When I was a young teen, I'd regularly go with my best friend to his father's auto junk yard. Flip would work there on weekends and I'd walk around imagining the past lives of these rusty gutted cars. That sadness of their lost histories pushed me to make a tiny animated film years later called CARS, three years before Disney's film with the same title. That was in 2001 and when I saw that tens of thousands a month were still watching that little film I decided to go back and make a series of shorts about those same cars sharing their lives in a junkyard in the desert. The kids may like the funny cars but the dialogue and subjects are not Disney. :-) An A.I Free Film.
