Your objective assessments which include multiple choice questions, fill in the blank, and true or false, do not require rubrics. However, performance based assessments, art projects, authentic assessments, presentations, and many other require rubrics as a tool for measuring student mastery. This video begins by describing why rubrics are a necessary part of classroom assessments. Next, it provides details on how to incorporate the rubric into a teacher's classroom. Teachers are given the step by step process. The video then proceeds to break down rubrics into the two different types, analytic rubrics and holistic rubrics. There the rubrics are compared and a general overview is given. This training was meant to introduce teachers and educators to rubrics and provide the teachers with a basic understanding of how to use them.
