Trim Weight System for Perfect Housing Stability Underwater

Neutral buoyancy and perfect trim are important to underwater imaging whether you’re shooting photos or video. Large diameter dome ports are the right choice for split shots (half-in, half out of the water). Ikelite produces the lightest 8” diameter dome ports underwater to optimize your travel baggage allowance. But that big pocket of air needs a counter-balance. That’s where the Trim Weight System # 47140 comes in. The unique Trim Weight System allows you to use a common scuba diving lead weight to balance out your Ikelite 200DL or 50DL underwater housing for mirrorless or DSLR cameras. This is advantageous for a few reasons: 1) you don’t have to buy an expensive specialty lead weight; and 2) you don’t have to travel with a piece of dead weight in your luggage. The rail system attaches without tools to the bottom of the tray and handles. A large lobed knob makes it easy to attach it, remove it, and - most importantly - slide it backward and forward to be in the perfect position based on the length of your dome port. Ikelite Vice President and Head of Product Development John Brigham shows you how and why to use the Trim Weight System on your underwater housing. The Trim Weight System is available within the USA through the Ikelite website www.ikelite.com and worldwide through your local Authorized Ikelite Dealer.
