Project Benefits: 1. Shortens the travel distance between Taichung Dadu and Changhua Hemei, improving transportation functionality. 2. Alleviates and improves traffic bottlenecks on existing connecting roads (Dadu Bridge, Zhongzhang Bridge). 3. Regional connectivity: The planned bridge will connect to the Taichung metropolitan area via Route 4 (Dadu section), National Highway 1, National Highway 3, and Provincial Highway 74 (circular line), forming a transportation network, providing traffic transfer, balancing local development, narrowing the urban-rural gap, and driving overall regional prosperity. 4. Short-term alternative: Currently, large transport vehicles traveling north and south between Taichung Port Industrial Park, Quanxing Industrial Park, and Zhangbin Industrial Park primarily use the Hemei Interchange on National Highway 3, considering factors such as toll costs and the shortest route into the national highway system. This places a significant burden on the Zhangbin Link Road on Provincial Highway 61B. This project aims to connect the Dadu and Hemei sections of the riverbank protection road (riverbank road). Project Overview: Taichung Dadu-Changhua Hemei River Bridge Construction Project. Taichung City's Dadu District and Changhua County's Hemei Township are adjacent to each other, separated by the Wu River. The only connections between the two areas have long been the Zhongzhang Bridge on Provincial Highway 17 and the Dadu Bridge on Provincial Highway 1. For a long time, the lack of connecting roads has forced residents to travel more than 10 kilometers, hindering regional development, traffic congestion, and disaster prevention. The Taichung City Government Construction Bureau and the Changhua County Government, based on the needs of local residents for regional transportation, interchanges, and balanced regional development, jointly plan to build a bridge connecting Dadu District and Hemei Township.
