INCREDIBLE 747 ENGINE SOUND - 4 Up Close 747-400 Takeoffs at Manchester Airport - CF6-80

During the busy summer season and the increased route demand, Virgin Atlantic increase the number of 747's based at Manchester with up-to 4 flights on certain days with flights to Orlando, New York and Barbados. This offers a great opportunity to see these aircraft depart up close, with the sound of the 4 CF6-80 never ceasing to impress as the aircraft spools up and departs. For years the 747 has been operating to Manchester with numerous carriers. Unfortunately as these aircraft are being withdrawn from commercial service Virgin Atlantic remains the only operator left at Manchester. However with daily flights there is no shortage of 747's, with up to 4 flights at anyone time. Virgin Atlantic last month announced their retirement plans and process for the 747 as the aircraft is replaced with the A350-1000.
