Bird Watching at Sandy Camp Rd Wetlands, QLD, Australia
Come join me for a virtual bird walk at Sandy Camp Rd Wetlands, a haven for bird watchers. It's got a diverse range of Australian bird species, from butcherbirds, kingfishers, fairywrens, waterfowl, birds of prey and many more! Those wanting to learn more Australian bird calls, I highlight several calls throughout the video. Plus, there's a few hidden species for you to listen out for :-) Hidden Treats (Easter Eggs): 08:24 Australasian Figbird calling 10:40 Torresian Crow calling 13:08 Scarlet Honeyeater calling 16:06 A single "mew" of a double-barred finch as I'm saying "walk" (I admit this is a difficult one) 19:13 Shining Bronze-Cuckoo calling 20:09 In the tallest tree on the left, you'll see a bright yellow patch of foliage. That's mistletoe. And there is one other unmentioned bird species calling, but you'll need to be a pro birder to be able to ID it. Clue: this bird is in the Meliphagidae taxonomic family 😉
