HOW TO DO YELLOWSTONE IN LESS THAN 2 DAYS | CONTINUED JOURNEY TO ALASKA S2 || Ep21

We leave our campground, Grant Village, early to see as much of Yellowstone as we can as it was the only day we could explore without the RV. The roads of Yellowstone make a figure 8 and we focused on the lower loop. Our first stop was Biscuit Basin. The history of the 1959 earthquake that shot biscuit looking rocks out of Sapphire Pool blew us away. The colors are incredible and made us really excited for what was coming next. Our next top was the Ferry Fall Trail that brought us to an overlook of Grand Prismatic, the jewel of Yellowstone National Park. Usually it is the history of a place that draws us, but in Yellowstone, it is the science that is so intriguing. The rainbow colors of Grand Prismatic are not cause by chemical reactions or minerals, but different bacteria that thrive in various temperatures and acidity levels of the water. We left Grand Prismatic and headed to the boardwalks of Norris Geyser Basin which is the home of Steamboat Geyer, the biggest geyser in North America. Though we didn’t see it go off, the stories we heard from the Park Ranger there were great! We looped to the other side of the park to visit the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and to see the impressive falls from Artists Point. The hike down the stairs to Lower Falls was beautiful and we loved to hear the roar of the falls and feel of the mist on our faces. Our night ended with spectacular animal watching headed down from Canyon Village to Yellowstone Lake on Highway 20. Buffalo, deer, and elk lined the rivers, fields and lakes on our drive. Sunset was topped off with a full moon rising over Yellowstone Lake. We pack up the RV and head to Old Faithful as they have large parking lots with RV parking. We walk around the lower level of Grand Prismatic for a totally different and equally as beautiful view of the spring. We head out of the park up through Mammoth Hot Springs and check out the limestone terraces and the visitor center. We took the most selfies we have ever taken on our tour through Yellowstone! Every place was so unique and needed to be documented the same way! We get to Jess’ friend’s house outside of Bozeman, MT, for the night.
