The new Mercedes SL comes from Affalterbach once again, as it was developed by AMG. That's why it now bears the name Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+ or Mercedes-AMG SL 55 4MATIC+. The idea was to bring the SL closer to the original SL Gullwing from 1954 – an automotive icon known to everyone. This means that the 2022 Mercedes SL is, among other things, significantly sportier. Its 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine delivers up to 430 kW (585 hp) and a maximum torque of 800 Nm; at least in the top-of-the-line SL 63 version. In addition to modern driver assistance systems and the latest infotainment system, including MBUX, the new SL not only comes standard with all-wheel drive but also features rear-axle steering.
