We checked into Hotel Old Swing in Shibuya, right inside what locals call “Love Hotel Hill,” surrounded by tiny backstreets, late night cafes, and couples who are very obviously not sightseeing. The catch The room is massive for Tokyo and the location is elite for the price, but the smell of mold and cigarettes hits hard. The bathtub and bathroom are so dirty that even a free-stay would feel expensive. Also, booking via a major site doubled the price compared to walking in at the front desk. So, is this the best value adult-only jazz love hotel near Shibuya, or a moldy regret simulator with free condoms as “travel insurance”?
