Profesor de Música Analiza la Armonía de Alejandro Sanz

In this harmonic analysis video, part of the "How to Learn Songs by Ear" series, we'll look at the chords of Alejandro Sanz's song "Lo Diré Bajito" (I'll Say It Softly). The song's harmony is very interesting, starting with the use of tonal functions, the use of diminished chords, and the contrast between the constant instability and surprise of section A and the stability and clear direction of section B. It's in section B where we find what my friend Pedro Bellora calls "precious details," beginning with the first two chords and continuing with the ascending line that leads us to the climax before descending again to section A.
