To be honest, I have a vague belief that there might be an afterlife. I don't remember if it was my parents' education, the influence of picture books, or school or television, but I've felt that there might be an afterlife since I was old enough to understand. However, now that I'm an adult and have gained a certain amount of scientific knowledge, I can agree with the idea that "when we die, our bodies and brains stop functioning, our memories and consciousness disappear, and nothing remains," and "there is no such thing as a soul; when we die, we completely disappear from this world." Well, I was thinking that maybe it's just a matter of each person believing what they want to believe when this book came out. It asserts that "death does not exist." It's quite shocking, isn't it? And what's more, this is the conclusion that Hiroshi Tasaka, a scientist and researcher with a PhD in nuclear engineering who has long believed that "there is no afterlife," arrived at after trying to explain his own many "strange experiences" using scientific and rational thinking.
