CTMD-TV: Ahmet Erdogdular

Singer Ahmet Erdogdular discusses the Ottoman Turkish musical tradition. Now based in New York City, Erdogdular is one of the world's leading exponents of Ottoman vocal music. Erdogdular is Center for Traditional Music and Dance's Artist-in-Residence for Spring 2013, and is the founder of Makam New York (www.makamnewyork.org). He will be featured in a special concert Sounds of the Bosphorous at Symphony Space Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater also featuring Ross Daly, Omer Erdogdular and Yurdal Tokcan on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 7:30PM. From April 5 - 9, the four musicians will conduct an intensive five-day workshop for instrumentalists and singers. Interview conducted by CTMD Executive Director Pete Rushefsky.
