Both main expansion spots get taken by two different opponents which leaves us pretty much stranded with nowhere obvious to go. Most players mentally check out at that point. We don't. We stay focused, play for what we can find, and keep our eyes on whatever win condition is still available. Sometimes the most interesting Catan comes from the positions that look the most hopeless.
