Why do humans dare to overstep their boundaries? Why do some people grow further away from Allah when they feel they possess power, knowledge, position, or wealth? This study discusses one of the main causes of human arrogance, mentioned in Surah Al-'Alaq, verses 6–7: "istaghna" (feeling self-sufficient and not needing Allah). When someone feels sufficient with themselves, their wealth, their knowledge, or their position, they are vulnerable to falling into arrogance and exceeding the limits set by Allah. This study explores the meaning of istaghna, its dangers in modern life, and how a Muslim can maintain humility and always rely on Allah SWT.
