2x 2007 ThyssenKrupp (mod. 2019 ThyssenKrupp) traction elevators @ Kornhaus, Innere Stadt, Bern, CH

Filmed on 21.7.2024. These are elevators number 1 and 2 at Kornhaus cultural center. The east elevator is number 1 and tge west elevator is number 2. Floor -2 has Restaurant Kornkeller. Floor -1 has Bar Kornkeller and restrooms on north side of the elevators. Floor 0 has Ristorante Più restaurant, Bindella Vinoteca wine shop and exit to road between Schmiedenplatz, Zeughausgasse and Nägeligasse and Kornhausplatz on north side of the elevators. 1st floor has Kornhaus forum, city hall and exhibition spaces on north side of the elevators. 2nd floor has Gallery Kornhaus forum and Pro Mente Sana Recovery College Bern. Floors 2 to 4 have Kornhaus library. 3rd floor has Kornhaus library borrowing and information point on north side of the elevators. 4th floor has Kornhaus library central services and administration of Kornhauskeller, Ristorante Più and Bindella Vinoteca. Floors -2, -1 and 2, 3rd floor on south side of the elevators and floors 0 and 1 and on south side of elevator number 2 are for staff or currently restricted and staff has to show their badge on the badge scanner for going to these floors. Elevator number 1 is small elevator and elevator number 2 is big elevator. These elevators were originally made in 2007 and later modernized in 2019 by ThyssenKrupp. ThyssenKrupp modernized buttons, outside directional indicators and installed LCD display screens in the cabs. The LCD display screens show date, time of clock, current floor and direction. Kornhaus is old granary completed in 1715 and designed by Hans Jakob and Abraham Dünz Junior. Kornhaus was for storing wine and grain back then. Kornhaus was converted to trade museum in 1895 by Bern city (municipality) and architect Paul Adolphe Tièche and then ground floor (EG) had post office. Floors -2 and -1 were converted to grand ballroom in 1898 by architect Friedrich Schneider. The grand ballroom works now as Restaurant and Bar Kornkeller.
