A ruined cemetery in Feodosia near the Surb Gevorg Church, a result of major construction work taking place nearby. The Church of St. George (Armenian: Սուրբ Գեորգի եկեղեցի) is a 14th-century church in Feodosia, originally belonging to the Armenian Catholic Church. It was the former catholicon of St. George's Monastery. Built in 1385, it was rebuilt in the 19th century. Closed in 1921. In 1998, it was transferred to the city's Armenian community. Its plan is an elongated rectangle. The unique appearance is due to the fact that the structure consists of several volumes built at different times. The old eastern part of the church is made of quarrystone and covered with semicircular arched vaults. The middle and western sections, erected in the 19th century, are made of dressed stone. The central section is crowned with a dome on an octagonal drum, in the tradition of Russian architecture. The western wall has a vaulted ceiling. The windows and doorways are arrow-shaped. The building is plastered inside and out.
