What a Carpathian Family of 7 Eats After Making Hay by Hand

What does a Carpathian family of seven eat after a day of cutting and raking hay by hand? In this episode, the family works in the meadow while a hearty dinner cooks in their traditional tiled wood stove. Mom prepares a large baked pot of meat, potatoes, mushrooms, vegetables, cheese and fresh herbs. Then she grinds meat by hand for rice meatballs, cooks buckwheat, and finishes everything in a tomato-vegetable sauce. The children help with garlic and vegetables before everyone gathers around the table.
