They revealed that they have acquired land nearly four times the current size. ◆Aya Komaki, President of Sanrio Entertainment "We have made significant progress on the land that will form the foundation of the resort development, specifically determining the scale of the land we will be developing, so we wanted to report that." Sanrio Character Park Harmony Land is located in Hiji Town. The plan underway there, the "Entertainment Resort Concept," involves a large-scale redevelopment of the facility and its surroundings at a cost of several hundred billion yen. On the 15th, Ms. Komaki, President of Sanrio Entertainment, the operating company, visited the prefectural office with Hiji Town Mayor Abe to report the progress of the plan to Governor Sato. She informed him of the acquisition of new surrounding land. Harmony Land currently covers approximately 8 hectares, but the acquired land is nearly four times that size, at approximately 30.85 hectares. Also on the 15th, initiatives other than land acquisition were announced. To ensure that everyone can enjoy the facility regardless of age or physical condition, electric rides will be introduced from July. Furthermore, a take-out specialty shop using local ingredients will be established by fiscal year 2026. In addition, a facility will be set up to solicit ideas from visitors in order to further develop the resort together. They are also proceeding with renovations to existing areas, and as the first phase, they plan to renovate "Kitty Castle," the symbol of Harmonyland.
