Jeh-sea Wells (Jesse Welles) - Demonstrations [2015]

Released on August 21, 2015, Demonstrations comes at an interesting time in Jesse's life. Dead Indian, his first band, would release their final EP only a month later, and his second band, Cosmic American, was just getting started. His collaboration with Pigeons & Planes had came and went, and he hadn't released a full album on his bandcamp since December 2013 (that album, When We Die, was also basically a solo demo of Dead Indian's album of the same name). This album broke the over year and a half inactivity Jesse had at the time making albums. Self described as psychpop and psych grunge, Demonstrations represents the sound that he would explore with Cosmic American (he would use two of the songs from this on their Out Far release). Often times, Jesse's albums from bandcamps would blend in with his bands, leaving to sometimes cases (like this) where this could be considered partially a Cosmic American release. But, he wouldn't begin to promote Cosmic American until November 2015 (at least that I can find), and as far as I can tell, these songs were presented here first. It is something you'll have to get used to with these early "Jeh-Sea Wells" era of albums. Either way, Demonstrations is an impressive album, and I always saw it as a shift into Jesse's third era of his career. 00:00 Lay Back 04:45 If I Were a Sailor 08:26 Room Up In Space 12:18 Let Them Know I’m Waiting 17:36 Low Ceilings 22:20 Waitin’ for the Southwest (To Come Up and Turn Me On) 26:34 With My Blue Eyes
