Hades 2 – Beating Kronos with Umbral Flames

Melinoë burns the Titan of Time, even if it costs a few lives. In this video, I defeat Kronos / Chronos, the Titan of Time, using the Umbral Flames (Ygnium) in Hades II. It’s not a perfect run – I do lose Death Defiances – but it’s a real, honest clear that shows how strong this Nocturnal Arm can be even in a messy fight. Umbral Flames lets you keep attacking while moving and surround yourself with orbiting Omega Specials, so I play mostly at mid‑range: constantly dashing, strafing around Kronos, and letting the flames chip him down while I focus on dodging. When I get greedy and take hits, the Death Defiances kick in and you see how I recover and stabilize the fight. In Phase 1, Kronos uses lunges that leave exploding rifts, suction swipes, golden orbs that shield him, and wide scythe throws. I bait his rushes, step out of the rifts at the last moment, and punish only when he clearly finishes a combo. The Umbral Flames’ constant fireballs help keep pressure on him even when I’m playing safe and backing off. In Phase 2, when the arena darkens and only narrow safe zones remain, the fight gets chaotic and that’s where I lose most of my Death Defiances. I dodge between safe circles, weave through closing rings and projectiles, and rely on the orbiting Omega orbs to keep dealing damage while I concentrate on survival and clearing adds and golden domes so I don’t get boxed in. This run is a good example that you don’t need a flawless god‑gamer performance to beat Kronos – you can make mistakes, lose revives, and still win if you keep moving, respect his Phase 2 patterns, and let Umbral Flames do steady work with a couple of solid boons.
