Regarding the viral video, the Yogyakarta Regional Police confirmed that the man was an active member. The Yogyakarta Regional Police attributed the incident to a misunderstanding and miscommunication that had been resolved amicably. This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Ihsan, on Wednesday (June 17). He acknowledged that the man in the video is an active member of the Yogyakarta Regional Police. "Regarding the video circulating on social media, we confirm that the man in the video is indeed a member of the Yogyakarta Regional Police," Ihsan said. He stated that the man had received a warrant for public expression, which was carried out on Wednesday (June 18) at the zero kilometer point in Yogyakarta. Ihsan stated that the man's presence at the demonstration location was part of his duties. He emphasized that the man detained by the students was solely responsible for ensuring the safety of the protesters, ensuring their safe and secure return to campus. Furthermore, Ihsan admitted there was a miscommunication and misunderstanding. However, the incident was resolved humanely. The Yogyakarta Regional Police have also communicated and coordinated with the rectorate and students.
