China (1850-1900) - Der Zerfall der Qing-Dynastie

From the mid-19th century onward, the Qing Dynasty was in decline. We'll examine how this came about and how China would develop between 1850 and 1900. The period between 1850 and 1912 represents a chapter in Chinese history characterized by imperialism, civil wars, and a decline in legitimacy. The Opium Wars, the Taiping Rebellion, and the forced opening of China through unequal treaties brought an end to the era of sovereign China. The Boxer Rebellion at the end of the 19th century represented a final act of defiance against Western imperialism, but it ultimately failed to prevent the collapse of the Qing Dynasty. 💰Want to support my work?
