“Credits Suite” - My Little Pony: The Movie BGM

“Credits Suite” BGM from the movie "My Little Pony: The Movie." (DOWNLOAD LINKS IN DESCRIPTION) -Overall Comments- After years of waiting, it's finally here: the My Little Pony Movie! There's more than enough to talk about with it, from the epic story to the gorgeous animation. However, we're here for the music, so let's discuss that! For this musical adventure, as with the show's musical episodes, Daniel Ingram and his team have not only taken on the song duties, but also the score. In addition to this, the movie also utilizes a full live orchestra for the songs and score, rather than the normal samples, digital instruments, and session players of most TV episodes. You can really hear the difference in the quality of the sound, which is saying a lot since the show's music has always sounded great. Ingram and team have graced us with 5 original songs for the movie, and some fantastic, sweeping, and sometimes beautiful score and new motifs. You'll hear themes repeated throughout for the new friends the Mane 6 and Spike meet on their journey. A few notes about my rips. First off, much like the Equestria Girls movies, the songs are mixed more for a theater than home setting. The difference here is the audio for the entire movie, not just the songs, are mixed this way, leading to a lot more dialogue in the stereo channels, more score in the center channel rather than just the dialogue/SFX, and a similar story for the surround channels. This makes the extraction process much more difficult, and certainly more so than it has ever been for the score. Due to this, don't expect to see everything here, as I'll be uploading what I can extract at reasonable quality. I was hoping the movie would get an official score release so I could avoid the hassle all-together, but alas... At the very least, this is from the uncompressed Blu-ray Master Audio source, so the lossless download options below are about as high quality as you can get! Also, due to the more involved nature of this, as well as the scope of the movie, I will not be uploading everything all at once like I normally do. Instead, I will be uploading tracks as I finish them, so stay tuned for more over the coming weeks! -Track Specific Comments- After we're graced with new songs by Sia and Lukas Graham to start off the movie's credits, we're treated to this wonderful score suite reprising a few of the major cues from the movie. Was really excited to hear this at the end, because it really gave the score one last moment to shine without any other distractions. We begin with a slightly more subdued version of the film's opening motif. There's a nice mix of the woodwinds taking turns at the melody. You can hear a flute solo with a tiny foreshadow if the "Time to Be Awesome" melody. This then builds into a buildup of the My Little Pony brand theme, which is awesome to hear coming from the full orchestra. From there, the score goes into a new part which was not featured in the movie, but bears some similarity to some of the score from the opening scene. It slowly builds, brings in the drums, and going into a fantastic, energetic part with the full orchestra doing some variations of the MLP brand motif. My guess is this might be some score from an older version of the opening sequence, before they stuck the "Ponies Got the Beat" song in. Next, the score ventures into the ending instrumental part of the "Time To Be Awesome" song, probably my favorite part of that number! Finally, we shift to a little string and horn interlude, which builds up, cuts off suddenly, and takes us into the Seaquestria leitmotif, which we heard throughout the movie for the Sea Ponies/Hippogriffs, most notably when we first see their underwater kingdom.
