Then, at the exact moment Abraham raised the knife, heaven broke through. The angel of the Lord called out and stopped everything. And when Abraham looked up, a ram was already caught in the thicket — waiting. God didn't send the provision when Abraham obeyed. God had already placed it there before Abraham even arrived. Your provision is already in progress. Abraham named that place Jehovah Jireh — "The Lord Will Provide." And the Scripture says, "To this day it is said, on the mountain of the Lord it will be provided." This moment was also a prophetic picture pointing forward to Jesus Christ — the only Son, offered on a hill, on the third day, with wood, at Mount Moriah — the very same mountain range where the cross would one day stand.
