Building a Pontoon to Dive Into Our Pond | Episode 5

In this video, we are taking a short break from building our tiny house to complete a side quest: building a floating pontoon for our pond. We use screw piles for the fixed foundation, build a reinforced wooden frame around a large float, install stainless-steel terrace screws and test the wood we are considering for the exterior cladding of our tiny house. Along the way, we also look back at a few lessons from our outdoor kitchen build (   • We build an outdoor kitchen | Episode 1  ), attempt to launch the pontoon without losing it in the pond, and finish the project with a well-deserved swim. We are constantly updating all of our resources on our website: https://www.lavishmeadow.com Original music is by our talented friend Jonas Jäger. 00:00 Building a pontoon for our pond 00:43 Welcome to Lavish Meadow 01:07 Planning the pontoon and testing our tiny-house cladding 03:29 Preparing the terrace boards 05:01 Building the fixed platform 07:49 Installing the decking 10:05 Lunch break and lessons from our outdoor kitchen 12:39 Building the floating section 16:07 Launching and attaching the pontoon 17:54 A well-deserved swim and the finished result
