God Gave You the Light - Who Are You to Dim It

You've been calling it humble...making yourself smaller so everyone else feels bigger. It's not humble. It's dimming your light, and it doesn't help a single soul. I did it for decades. Let others take credit for work I led, swallowed my own voice, shrank so everyone stayed comfortable and called it being gracious. It wasn't kindness. It was fear in a costume. But think of a candle. Light a second one from its flame and the first loses nothing now there are two. Your shining has never once made someone else's light smaller.
