Cozy English Window Makeover | DIY Herb Hanger & Plum Pie Recipe 🪟🥧

This week on @VLeafless I wanted to share with you a little piece of my world. 🌿 Sometimes the simplest things around us can change the whole atmosphere of home — like a window. I had a very ordinary one, but I kept dreaming of those charming English cottage windows I’ve seen in books, in Pinterest inspiration boards, and even in tiny décor pieces, like a teapot in the shape of a house. I wondered for a long time how to bring that feeling into my home without replacing the entire window… and I finally found a way! With just a self-adhesive profile, a bit of patience, and imagination, I managed to give my window an English soul. ✨ But of course, what is an English mood without coziness? So while working on this little project, I also baked a quick plum pie 🍰 — it’s the season for these juicy fruits, and the smell instantly fills the home with warmth. The recipe is very simple, something you can whip up in minutes, yet it tastes like comfort and autumn sweetness. And because I love not only decorating but also creating things with meaning, I came up with a design for a DIY herb drying hanger. Fresh herbs from the pots by my window will now dry there beautifully, bringing both aroma and charm to my kitchen. 🌸 In this video you’ll find: ✨ A budget-friendly English-style window makeover ✨ A cozy plum pie recipe ✨ A DIY idea for an herb drying hanger Plum pie recipe: Ingredients: • 500 g fresh plums (pitted and halved) • 200 g all-purpose flour • 150 g sugar (you can reduce to 120 g if plums are very sweet) • 200 g Greek yogurt (thick, unsweetened) • 2 large eggs • 1 tsp baking powder • 1 tsp vanilla extract • A pinch of salt • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a 24 cm round baking tin with parchment paper. 2. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with sugar until light and fluffy. 3. Add the Greek yogurt and vanilla, mixing until smooth. 4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix. 5. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and smooth the surface. 6. Arrange the plum halves cut side up on top of the batter, pressing them slightly into the dough. 7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. 8. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired. The result is a soft, moist, and slightly tangy plum cake — perfect for an afternoon treat! I hope this little journey inspires you too — maybe to bake, maybe to craft something with your own hands, or simply to look at your home with fresh eyes.
