The Easiest Connection Ever! Lisbon to Madrid to Lanzarote – Cheap Airport, Two Flights & A Lot of Laughs 🇵🇹🇪🇸 After days of castles, chaos, custard tarts and crowds, Mr TravelON and Jack wrap up their European adventure and finally head home to Mrs TravelON in Lanzarote. This time, we did something new — our first ever connecting flight: Lisbon ➜ Madrid (EasyJet) ➜ Lanzarote (Ryanair). I was expecting stress, confusion and airport carnage… but you know what? It was an absolute doddle. This video shows it all — Lisbon Airport, Madrid Barajas Airport, both flights (take-off and landing included), plus the usual banter, rants, and travel reality. And we discovered a shocker — Lisbon Airport is officially the cheapest airport we’ve ever flown from! 💶 Lisbon Airport: Europe’s Cheapest Airport?! Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) blew us away — not for luxury, but for the prices. Bottled water: €1 McDonald’s meal: €3.90 In a world of €6 airport coffees and €10 sandwiches, Lisbon wins hands down. 📍 Airport Overview: Located just 7 km from Lisbon city centre. Two terminals: Terminal 1 (main, all airlines) and Terminal 2 (low-cost carriers, including EasyJet & Ryanair). Connected by shuttle bus (~10 min). Facilities include plenty of budget dining, free Wi-Fi, good signage and friendly staff. 🧭 Pro Tip: If you’re doing a connection like we did (EasyJet ➜ Ryanair), allow at least 3 hours between flights to switch terminals, clear security and check in luggage again. ✈️ The Flights – EasyJet & Ryanair Double Combo This was a first for us — flying EasyJet from Lisbon to Madrid, then connecting to Ryanair from Madrid to Lanzarote. 🟠 EasyJet Lisbon ➜ Madrid Flight time: ~1 hour 20 min. Smooth take-off, clean cabin, and surprisingly friendly crew. Great aerial views of Portugal’s coast and central Spain. 🔵 Madrid Airport (Adolfo Suárez Barajas – MAD) Madrid’s main airport is huge but easy to navigate. Four terminals linked by automated trains. Good signage in English and Spanish. Food court prices are decent — and cleaner than most hubs we’ve been through. Connecting flights between airlines aren’t handled automatically, so you must collect and re-check bags yourself. 💺 Ryanair Madrid ➜ Lanzarote Flight time: ~2 hours 35 min. Classic Ryanair vibe — fast boarding, noisy but efficient. Seats not bad, landing in Lanzarote perfectly on time. The view of the Canary Islands from the window: unbeatable. 😂 Mr TravelON’s Take For someone who expected chaos, it was easy. No missed flights, no drama, and even time to laugh about influencers, airports, and Jack’s snack obsession. Honestly, Lisbon Airport being this cheap was the real headline — and after the expense of Switzerland, it felt like paradise. By the time we landed in Lanzarote, I realised connections aren’t scary — just another story in the Truth Travel saga.
