Can a Cheap Refurbished AD5X Print ASA-CF? Better Than Expected

ASA-CF is often described as one of the more challenging filaments for consumer 3D printers, so I wanted to find out whether my refurbished Flashforge AD5X could actually handle it. This AD5X was purchased as a refurbished Amazon bargain and has since been modified with a custom-built enclosure and fume extraction system. In this video I test Flashforge ASA-CF Carbon Fibre filament by printing a variety of functional and decorative models, including battery organisers, masks, a Toothless dragon model and other practical workshop prints. The original reason for trying ASA-CF was simple. A friend needed a replacement Tesla part that had previously been printed in PETG. While PETG works well for many applications, the extreme temperatures inside a parked car during summer can exceed 60°C. ASA-CF offers improved heat resistance, UV resistance and rigidity, making it a potentially better long-term solution. Can a £179 refurbished AD5X really handle ASA-CF? How difficult is it to print?
