You'll probably know Xian for its famous Terracotta Warriors or, if your knowledge of Chinese history goes a little deeper, for having been the political center of China and the eastern end of the Silk Road. The capital of Shaanxi province also has another culinary honor: being the birthplace of biang biang noodles. These extra-long, extra-wide noodles, which you could almost make a belt out of, have recently become popular in other parts of China and are now available in Spain as well. A small establishment in Madrid's Chueca neighborhood, Biang Biang Bar, makes them by hand and serves them with different sauces and accompaniments.
