When grief arrives, it can feel impossible to rest. The mind searches for answers. The body holds tension. The nervous system remains on high alert. Thoughts circle endlessly around unanswered questions, memories, regrets, longing, love, and loss. This gentle Yoga Nidra practice was created as a place of rest for those navigating grief, bereavement, sudden loss, and profound life change. Unlike many guided meditations, this practice is not designed to fix you, heal you, or take away your grief. There is nothing here that you need to let go of. Nothing you need to overcome. Nothing you need to rush. Instead, this recording offers a compassionate pause. A chance to soften around the weight you may be carrying and allow your body, mind, and nervous system an opportunity to rest. This practice is informed by trauma-aware Yoga Nidra principles, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and compassionate self-awareness. It has also been shaped by my own lived experience of grief and loss. While every grief journey is unique, I understand something of the shock, disorientation, heartbreak, longing, and profound tenderness that loss can bring.
