The Locals Got Revenge (Tuesday Nighter)

Last week I fished this Tuesday nighter by myself, caught 17-12, and won it. So this week I came back with my father-in-law Larry in the boat, a box full of swimbaits, and a plan to give most of it away before we pulled out of the ramp. Larry is a Fort Worth fishing legend. He has been fishing DFW water longer than half this field has been alive, and he still works every single day of the week, which is exactly what a working man's Tuesday nighter is about. Four goals tonight: pay one boat's entry fee back out of my winnings, hand out fizz needles so these fish survive the heat, get Larry bit on an old school big worm, and win this thing again. 46 boats showed up, the biggest turnout this tournament has ever had, and an east wind flat shut the lake down. We ran brush pile after brush pile and marked good ones on every single stop. We had them eat, we had them come off, and we could not put a keeper in the boat that mattered. That is Ray Roberts. We also ran a fizz class at the ramp. If you fish deep water in the summer, learn this. Draw a line from the split in the dorsal fin back to the vent, then follow the pectoral fin up to that intersection. Go in at 45 degrees, turn the needle perpendicular, and you will see bubbles.
