JUBILE DU MWAMI 25 ANS DE TRONE

Godefroid Munongo Masuka was enthroned in July 1998 in Bunkeya as Mwami of the Bayeke and Chief of the Bayeke Chiefdom in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lualaba Province, Lubudi Territory, and thus bears the name Mwenda Bantu Masuka Kaneranera Munongo Godefroid Junior. Therefore, on July 8, 2023, in Bunkeya, Congolese people in general, various traditional authorities, business delegations, members of the Bunkeya security council, various cultural associations, administrative authorities, all the chiefs of the Bayeke groups (namely: Bunkeya, Kalonga, Mbebe, Mutobo, Mwenda Mukose, Mugabe Kasari), the kings of Africa: Aboubacar of Chad, Cikaya of Congo-Brazzaville, Fiti V of Ghana, Bajan of Mali, Mumia of Kenya, and Prince Saurel of Benin. Ms. Furaha, the national Minister of Culture, Arts, and Heritage, represented the Prime Minister, who was unable to attend, and Ms. Fifi Masuka, the interim Governor of Lualaba, was represented by Mr. Déodar Kapenda, the Minister of the Interior. During the ceremony, the provincial coordinator of national orders presented a certificate of civic merit to His Majesty Mwenda Bantu, a state dignitary, for his loyal and exemplary service to the Congolese nation. On July 10, 2023, at the Provincial Assembly building, the transfer of power at the presidency of the Forum of African Kings took place between the outgoing Mwami Mwenda Bantu Munongo of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the incoming King Fiti V of the Republic of Ghana, in the presence of Ms. Furaha, the national Minister of Culture, Arts, and Heritage.
