Schatztruhe 3.0 - Slalom Siegerland Kaserne 1973

Today we're opening our treasure chest to reveal a film by Rüdiger Schleifenbaum about the slalom racing of the AMC Burbach at the Siegerland Barracks. For many years, a very friendly relationship existed between the AMC Burbach and the management of the Siegerland Barracks and the 22nd Air Defense Missile Battalion. Numerous events were organized, especially with the then head of the driving school, Master Sergeant Sigi Fels, and the head of the NCO mess, Sergeant Major Helmut Dielmann. These included not only the traditional autocross, but also, and perhaps most notably, our motorsport club's legendary autumn ball. Thanks to our fellow club member Rüdiger Schleifenbaum, these legendary celebrations were filmed more than 50 years ago. We decided to digitize these films, created using the technology, production methods, and commentary of the time, and thus preserve them for posterity.
