How to Stop Being a Fake Christian (Sunday, Oct 16, '16)

Sunday, October 16, 2016 - http://rebuildingtheman.com/church - Jesse talked about how to "clean the inside of the cup," as Jesus told the people to do, in order not to live a life of falsehood. Rather, in Jesse's words, we should "just be," with God's spirit of love inside us. Jesse told about one black woman on YouTube who made a video-response to a black man complaining about black women. She said black men tend to lack education, real masculinity, character, independence, and clear-thinking. One black woman in the audience concurred. Jesse followed-up with her about last week's discussion on her conflict with a coworker (see short excerpt:    • Church Woman Judges & Hates Her Coworker, ...  ). Jesse discussed with a street evangelist about being perfect. Jesus said we should be perfect, but so many people say that you cannot be perfect. One person qualified that they’re perfect “in Christ,” but Jesse said that doesn’t mean much. A young man said that a tree is perfect — it does not judge itself. Why else even be a Christian? Otherwise just stay with Satan, party and die. Why repent you’re still going to continue being wrong. Matthew chapter 5, verse 48, says, “You therefore must be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect.” People think that it means that we will be perfect only after we die. Jesse asked about anger — a Christian woman admitted to having hurt people with anger, after debating whether anger was from God or from Satan. Jesse says that anger is of your father the devil, there is no love in anger, and it’s all destructive and comes from hate. If you do things in love, then there’s eternal life in it. The woman said that no one can be all-loving. But if God is our father, we should have a brand new, all-loving nature. The woman’s sister said she apologizes for her anger, hurting her kids. She cannot let go of her anger. A man said that he can’t make himself change through thinking, words and intellect. Jesse said that God wants us to “be.” Do unto others as we would have them do unto us. You don’t have to try to figure out God or do anything. Jesse said that we need self-knowledge — go within and know thyself. Jesse asked what it means to know yourself. One man said that his cup is so dirty, a pig sty looks clean. A woman who’s attended before said, based on Jesse’s book, “The Antidote: Healing America…,” that she asks God for forgiveness. Jesse said that, as you forgive others, repent for hating, being mad, and judgmental of others, you shall be forgiven. Jesse said that she should apologize to the person she is angry at. God recommends we go to one another and forgive — apologize for anger. Knowing thyself is a state of nonjudgmental attention without the question of why. Judging yourself is Satan making you think about yourself in ways. Live in a state of love — God’s love. And like a tree is different from others, it does not compare itself. A bird does not worry about tomorrow. A man said that he tells the kids whom he teaches martial arts not to “try” or stress out, but just do. God said to consider the birds; he takes care of them. He needs us to just be. Let go of all the other knowledge — the big fish is consciousness, the mind of God. The rest is empty knowledge which can deceive you — even the Bible when you read it to remember — but your mind deceives you about it. Satan feeds us thoughts — he is the accuser. You should live by the Holy Spirit inside. God is with us. Just be. Stop pretending. Stop lying. Stop telling all your old stories. Stop role-playing, pretending to be pure and holy. Stop the pretense. Stop putting on an appearance. Do not do that which is against love. 1 John chapter 4, verse 9, says that no man born of God sins.
