Scammer Calls Man Who Happened To Be Police Captain Asking For $2,400
A man recorded a phone call from a scammer. The scammer identified themselves as a captain at a sheriff's department. The scammer told his target that he had missed jury duty and that he was in big trouble with the law. The call said it could make it all go away for $2,400. The call went on for 20 minutes. What the scammer did not know was that he was on the phone with an actual police captain from Ohio. When Captain Jacob Morris identified himself, the scammer knew the jig was up.
