I Found a Tiny Freshwater Fish the Color of Outer Space
I spent the day exploring a spring looking for one of Florida's most beautiful freshwater fish - the Gulf Coast Pygmy Sunfish. Pygmy sunfish may be tiny but boy are they ever vibrant, and with the help of my macro lens I was able to film some pretty sweet behavior from these feisty little fish. Although we often focus on charismatic megafauna like manatees when it comes to springs conservation, there's an incredible array of diversity that often gets overlooked. All the more reason to protect freshwater systems like Florida Springs. 00:00 Intro/Prep 01:56 Exploring the Spring 06:43 The Search for the Fish 09:39 Switching to Macro 10:22 The Gulf Coast Pygmy Sunfish 19:07 Outro #snorkeling #sunfish #freshwaterfish #underwaterphotography #floridasprings
