The Holy Dormition Pskov-caves monastery — one of the largest and most famous in Russia men's monasteries with a long history. The name of the monastery is connected with located in it the caves, called the "created God" (that is, created by God). In 1473 there was consecrated cave Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God dug by the monk Jonah the hill of Sandstone. This year is the year of Foundation of the monastery. In the monastery there are: God created caves (near and far), the Church of Dormition of the Pokrovskaya, Candlemas, St. Michael's (Cathedral), the Annunciation, Lazarevski, Nikola Goalkeeper of the Resurrection (in the caves), Kornievskaia, the Pskovo-Pechersk monk and the bell tower, deanery, fraternal body, sacred springs, the Vestry, the Fortress walls with towers. Currently, the near caves and the historical Church are open all day. The entrance to the far caves God created are available by prior arrangement.
