Fine Times at Our House — Rhys Jones, Fiddle
This is my version of a classic West Virginia tune, originally from the playing of Webster County fiddler Edden Hammons. The fiddle is tuned to EADA (from high to low), which is normally a D tuning. But in this case, it creates the most beautiful dissonance and modal tension for a tune that is actually in the key of A. Special thanks to my friends Maura and Jay in Baltimore, as I couldn't resist the opportunity to play some music in the beautiful acoustic space of their house. I think all those banjos hanging on the back wall added reverb!
