She refused to attend the ceremony because the child's mother - her daughter Kris - is living with a married actor nearly twice her age. The relative calm outside the Santuario de San Antonio Church in Forbes Park, a wealthy enclave in suburban Makati City belied the media circus inside. Hordes of reporters, photographers and television crews flocked to see Kris Aquino cradle her month-old son, Joshua Phillip Anthony Joseph, as she tried to keep the harsh camera lights away from him. Mrs. Aquino accepts her new grandson, but she refuses to acknowledge the father - Salvador. He's trying to get a divorce from his Filipino wife and is much older than Mrs. Aquino's daughter. Kris the youngest child, left the family home in November last year already three months pregnant. It created a scandal for Mrs. Aquino, a devout Catholic who has stressed the "sanctity of marriage" and made no secret of her dislike for her daughter's lover. Kris Aquino went back home for the first time shortly after she delivered the baby in June to show him to the other members of her family.
