3 reasons I've STOPPED using a pick for jazz guitar...

Here's why I've STOPPED using guitar picks forever and I'm using THUMB instead for electric and jazz guitar. "Forever" is a pretty serious word, I know...but here goes :-) After years of playing with a pick (and doing endless technical exercises) I still had musical problems I could not solve. By switching to the THUMB, the 3 biggest problems I had with a pick simply VANISHED. I'm not "copying" Wes Montgomery. It's just that he laid the solution out in plain sight...and after trying it, I can say that it works for me. (There's more than one way to play, this is very personal.
