Today I visited Ustka, where I tried butterfish. I bought it in two seaside locations, unfortunately, there was no information about the potential dangers associated with eating this fish. Many tourists, like me, are not aware that some species sold under the name "butterfish" (e.g. Escolar or Lepidocybium flavobrunneum) can cause serious gastrointestinal problems. There is a lack of reliable markings and warnings, which should be standard in a tourist town.
